Many people struggle with self-esteem and think that they are not good enough. The Bible says, that God loves you so much that he sacrificed his Son, Jesus, so that you could spend eternal life with him. He knew all the ways you would sin and stuff up and he still did it. That's pretty amazing.

I have just finished reading Jonathan McKee's book, The Teen's Guide to Social Media and Mobile Devices: 21 Tips to Wise Posting in an Insecure World. You can take a sneak peak here. The book is easy to read, up-to-date (published in 2017), full of interesting information and real life stories. Jonathan gave some Bible verses and looked at the topic from a Christian world view, but the principles are relevant for all teens. There are discussion questions at the end of each short chapter so I think it would work well as a small group study too. I highly recommend it!
Sometimes it's hard to know what to pray for so we'll be looking at what the Bible says over the next few weeks. Did you know that the new Prime Minister of Australia is a Christian and attends Hillsong Church? That doesn't mean he's perfect, just forgiven. Paul tells us to pray for our Government and those who have authority over us - this could include teachers, pastors, sports coaches etc. He explains that we should pray for them so that we can live peaceful lives. Have you ever had a class that you absolutely hated? Our leaders/teachers/bosses can make our lives miserable if they are not good leaders so we should pray for them.
The world tells us that we need the things on the left to be satisfied. The Bible tells us that only God can satisfy. God told the Israelites in Isaiah, The Lord will always lead you and satisfy your needs in dry lands. He will give strength to your bones. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water, like a spring that never goes dry (Isaiah 58:11). This promise came with a condition though. God told them that if they looked after the poor and needy then he would satisfy them. Even though this verse is talking about satisfying our physical needs, God also satisfies our spirit and soul, as well as our bodies.
